New Apple Watch Series 8 Design rumours!
According to new reports, Apple will be releasing a new high-end "Pro" Apple Watch Series 8 model towards the end of this year. With the already popular Series 7 performing well in sales, we're intrigued to hear what new features the Series 8 will bring forth.
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the upcoming high-end variant of the Series 8 will feature the Apple Watch's first redesign in years and a new titanium casing. The Series 8 won't feature the squared look, despite numerous rumours and fake mock-up designs that have been circulating around the internet in recent months. Gurman said that this year's high end Apple Watch will be "a good bit bigger" than current Apple Watch models, owing to a five to seven percent larger display. In Gurman's words, the display will be so large that it "might only appeal to a subset of customers"
The new high-end Apple Watch will reportedly feature the watch's first redesign since the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 4 in 2018. It will apparently not be a circular design and also "won't have those rumoured flat sides" Gurman instead describes the design as being "an evolution of the current rectangular shape" He added that it will have a casing made of "a more durable formulation of titanium to make it extra rugged" and said that "the upcoming Apple Watch release is shaping up to be one of the company's more exciting product launches this year"
Earlier this year, a leaker known as "ShrimpApplePro", who correctly said that the Apple Watch series 7 will feature a rounded design like that of the Apple Watch Series 6, claimed that Apple was working on a "flat front glass display" for an Apple Watch Series 8 model. It seems quite plausible that this information could be relating to the rumoured new design for the high-end model.
The other Apple Watch Series 8 models, expected to come in the same 41mm and 44mm sizes as the Series 7, are not expected to feature a re-design when they launch later this year. Gurman recently reported that Apple is planning to host an event on Wednesday September 7th 2022 to unveil new iPhone and Apple Watch models. Beyond a redesign, the high-end Apple Watch is expected to feature the new S8 chip, a body temperature sensor for enhanced sleep tracking and fertility planning, a low power mode to help preserve battery life, and speaking of battery life; a larger battery seems to be on the books as well, helping to enable longer workout times.
